The YT-CTM Folding Endurance Tester (MIT type) is a new type of instrument developed by our company in accordance with the national standard GB/T 457 (Determination of Folding Endurance of Paper and Cardboard).


The Folding Endurance Tester adopts an advanced 32-bit ARM processor to ensure control and calculation speed and accuracy; Adopting a 5-inch color touch screen LCD display, it is easy to operate and displays clearly; High performance stepper motors and drivers ensure the accuracy and stability of the rotation angle and folding speed of the transmission mechanism. The instrument has various parameter tests included in the standard, and after the testing is completed, the statistical results of various data can be directly obtained. The instrument has a compact structure, small volume, light weight, and full functionality, suitable for measuring the folding resistance of various types of paper and paperboard.


This instrument is an opto electromechanical integrated structure. The mechanical part includes the motor rotation part and the tension structure part. The mechanical transmission part drives the folding chuck to rotate back and forth 135 ° by controlling the stepper motor. The tension mechanism deforms the opening spring by pressing down on the tension rod, and the spring force formed applies force to the tested paper sample. (The magnitude of the force on the tested paper sample is adjusted by the deformation generated by the spring.)


The instrument can calculate the number of folds of the tested paper sample through the detection of the photoelectric circuit, and can automatically stop the motor after the sample is tested. Simultaneously, the automatic return of the folding chuck is achieved through the detection of the Hall circuit.


Test operation steps

Press the tension bracket so that the tension pointer on the tension rod indicates the set spring tension value. Tighten the tension rod fastening knob and clamp the sample between the tension clamp and the folding clamp. First fix the tension clamp, then fix the folding clamp. When clamping the sample, it is required to be tensioned and not twisted. Afterwards, loosen the tension rod fastening knob.


Press the start button, and the folding clamp will automatically fold until it breaks. When folding, the window displays real-time folding times and testing time


The number of folds and flexural strength at the time of specimen fracture (i.e. the logarithmic value of the number of double folds with a base of 10).
